Nitish for education of girls to eradicate social evils

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday advocated quality education for girls to make women the main driver of socio-economic change in the state, check child marriage and high fertility rate and improve gender ratio.

As per census 2011 data, Delhi`s sex ratio of children up to six years of age has dropped to 866 girls per 1,000 boys from 868 girls in 2001.

Mizoram has a gender ratio of 975 females to every 1000 males, perhaps the best sex ratio in the country, state Home minister R. Lalzirliana said here today while releasing the provisional census report 2011 for the state.
