Thousands of devotees from all over Kerala and other states on Tuesday thronged the famous Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple here to witness "Lakshadeepam" (lighting of one lakh lamps), marking the end of the 56-day centuries-old ritual "Murajapam".

Some right-wing Hindu outfits in Kerala have come out in the open against the Reserve Bank, which had written letters to some of the leading Hindu temples in the state last month seeking to collect data on the gold or bullion reserves with them.
