The Tripura government has decided to recruit primary school teachers for the first time in 17 years -- that too without conducting the teachers eligibility test (TET), a minister said here on Friday.

Tamil Nadu Government today opposed in the Madras High Court a plea for extending concession in the minimum qualifying marks for reserved category candidates in TET, saying it had taken a policy decision not to compromise on quality of teachers.
