Canadian handset maker BlackBerry Monday slashed the price of Q5 smartphone by 20 per cent to Rs 19,990 to boost sales of devices powered by its latest operating system BB-10.

BES10 customers can now purchase BlackBerry Q10 smartphone at just Rs 39,990, BlackBerry Z10 smartphone at Rs 29,000 and BlackBerry Q5 smartphone at Rs 22,699.

Q5, its latest product on BlackBerry 10-- the operating system-- was launched in India last month. The other models on this platform are Q10 and Z10.

The company stated in their blog that the Q5 would launch as early as July in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America.
