Government in April hiked dearness allowance by 6 percent to 113 percent of the central government employees and pensioners' basic pay with effect from January.

In a move that will benefit over 1 crore central government employees and pensioners, the government Tuesday hiked the dearness allowance by 6 percent from the existing 107 percent.
