Global hospitality major InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) Wednesday said it plans to open 47 new hotels in India by the end of 2017 thereby taking its room strength to over 12,000 in the country.

This is the fourth brand for IHG in India after the InterContinental, the Crowne Plaza and the Holiday Inn brands.
