Jolt to SP in UP Legislative Council polls, BSP gets majority

In a severe jolt to trouble-ridden Samajwadi Party, the ruling BSP on Wednesday swept the biennial elections to the UP Legislative Council winning 31 of the 36 seats for which polls were held.

In a setback to the Ashok Gehlot government, the Rajasthan High Court on Monday held constitution of the Mathur Commission to probe an alleged multi-crore scam during the previous Vasundhra Raje regime as illegal.
