Ahmedabad: Ahead of by-elections in Gujarat, the BJP's state parliamentary board held a meeting at its headquarters in Gandhinagar on Friday to finalise its panel of probable candidates for contests to one Lok Sabha and nine Assembly seats.
The board meeting was chaired by state BJP president RC Faldu.
"State BJP in-charge Om Mathur was also present in the meeting. Other senior leaders present in the meeting include IK Jadeja, Purushottam Rupala, Bhikhubhai Dalsania and Vijay Rupani, among others," Gujarat state BJP's media convener Harshad Patel said.
"These leaders interacted with observers and local party leaders of these ten seats to give a final shape to the panel of candidates," Patel said.
The list of probable candidates would now be sent to the BJP's central parliamentary committee in Delhi for a final announcement of party candidates contesting from each seat.
These seats include the Lok Sabha seat of Vadodara, and Gujarat Assembly seats of Anand, Limkheda, Deesa, Maninagar, Khambhalia, Tankara, Matar, Talaja and Mangrol.
Voting will take place on September 13.
