Virudhunagar: Fireworks manufacturing units in this district resumed production after about a week today following an invitation from the Centre for talks on various issues affecting them.
According to a release here today the officials of the Department of Industrial Policy had invited them for talks at Delhi on Apr 21.
The fireworks manufacturers were protesting against for the last several days against increse in explosives licence fee from Rs 15,000 to Rs four lakh, and illegal import of crackers from China.
A P Selvaraj, President, Tamil Nadu Fireworks and Amorces Manufacturers Association, said they had been invited for talks.A 10-member delegation of fireworks manufacturers, representing three associations, will attend the talks.
