Chennai: Minister of State for External Affairs and IUML leader E Ahamed on Wednesday thanked DMK president M Karunanidhi for allotting Vellore constituency to his party for the April 24 Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu.
"Myself and my party Indian Union Muslim League take this opportunity to once again express our gratitude in taking forward our decades-old political understanding and your large heartedness in considering our request to spare Vellore Lok Sabha seat for IUML," he said in a letter to Karunanidhi.
DMK's other allies in the LS polls besides IUML are Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, Manithaneya Makkal Katchi and Puthiya Thamizhagam.
