Coimbatore: Two DMK platform speakers, wanted in connection with cases for making allegedly derogatory remarks against Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa a few months ago, on Tuesday surrendered before the District Sessions Court here.

A case was registered against Karur Murali for uttering allegedly derogatory remarks against Jayalalithaa during a function to celebrate the birthday of DMK Partriach M Karunanidhi last year. However, Murali had been at large.

A similar case was registered against Karur Ganesh, another speaker for speaking against Jayalalithaa during the facilitation of anti-Hindi agitators in Mettupalayam in January last.

Both the cases came up for hearing in the Principal District Sessions Court today and Judge N Seshasayee posted the case for September nine.

He also ordered that copies of charge sheets be provided to them on that day.
