New Delhi: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to family of Flight Lieutenant Tapan Kapoor, who died in a helicopter crash during an IAF rescue operation in flood-ravaged Uttarakhand.
Dikshit had yesterday visited Kapoor's parents in their Kinari Bazar residence in Chandni Chowk in central Delhi.
"Tapan Kapoor was a dedicated and brave son of the country," the Chief Minister said.
Kapoor had died a week back in a helicopter crash while rescuing stranded people in Uttarakhand.
