Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull)

The defending champion didn’t have a great 2012 and he deserves full credit for the stellar comeback. He was lagging 40 points behind Alonso but kind of champion that he is, Vettel now leads by 6 points after winning three successive titles, last being the Korean GP.

The German has made his intentions clear by dominating in both the practice sessions on Friday. On Saturday, Vettel once dominated the proceedings as he bagged the pole position. The 25-year-old is an expert when it comes to leading from that position. There is no reason why he cannot win his second consecutive Indian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton (McLaren)

Hamilton is fourth in the drivers` table, 62 points behind defending champion Vettel who is at the top while Ferrari`s Fernando Alonso is six points behind him.

Hamilton has said that he along with his McLaren teammate Jenson Button can give a tough competition to Red Bull drivers Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. The McLaren might not have the same pace to match with the Red Bull drivers, but Hamilton is someone who can give a tough competition to both Webber and Vettel.

Mark Webber (Red Bull)

While all eyes would be on Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber would try his best to give a podium finish to his side after he will begin the race at second after Vettel and Hamilton. Vettel pipped his team mate to claim the pole position and Webber has the potential to reach the top of the podium on Sunday.

Fernando Alonso (Ferrari)

Ferrari’s Alonso is lagging behind just six points to defending champion Vettel (215 points) at the top of the drivers` table. Alonso has been the most consistent driver in 2012 and had it not been for retirements in Belgium and Japan, Alonso could have been placed in a much better position. Alonso will start the race from fifth position and he would need some luck for a formidable show at the Indian Grand Prix.
