Top signings to watch out for in EPL

Eden Hazard (Lille to Chelsea - £32million)

The Belgium international has made his mark in his first game for the Blues soon after his arrival at the Stamford Bridge in a £32 million deal from Lille. His show against Wigan Athletic in their opener had Di Matteo dub him as an "artist``. He opened scoring against Newcastle in their third game to give a perfect start to their new season. His ability to create as well as score establishes why he has been sought after by all of Chelsea`s main rivals. Experts believe the 21-year-old will be key to Chelsea’s title bid. He has been twice selected as the Ligue 1 Player of the Year for his 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons with Lille.

Shinji Kagawa (Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United- £17million)

Manchester United critics alleged Shinji Kagawa’s £17million signing was an attempt to boost club’s profits considering Kagawa’s obvious appeal in Asia, a claim refuted by the club many times over. However, Kagawa became an instant hit after their opening 0-1 loss against Everton and 3-2 win over Fulham. He won plaudits from Alex Ferguson for his exploits and some say that he is one of Fergie’s shrewdest signings in their bid to regain the title.

Oliver Giroud (Montpellier to Arsenal- £12million)

The French international has much bigger shoes to fill in at Arsenal after the departure of Robin van Persie. And Giroud has it in him to rise to the occasion as it was evident from what he did for Montpellier last season. He scored 21 league goals to help Montpellier win the first Ligue 1 title in the club`s history.

Fabio Borini (Parma to Liverpool- £12million)

The Italian is no stranger to English Premier League. He was part of Chelsea’s first team from 2009 before moving to Swansea City in 2011 on loan. Fabio Borini fits perfectly to Brendan Rodgers’ scheme of things. The fact that he coached the young forward at both Chelsea and Swansea comes as an added advantage. He started his career at Bologna, before moving to Chelsea in 2007. In 2011, he joined Championship side Swansea City on loan, and eventually signed for Roma, before signing for Liverpool in 2012.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (1899 Hoffenheim to Tottenham- £8million)

The Islandic footballer proved his mettle in his loan spell at the Premier League club Swansea last season. Fittingly, Gylfi was named the Premier League Player of the Month for March, the first Icelander to win the award. The attacking midfielder would ease some of the pressure off the Spurs strikers and would play a key role to strengthen their attack. Not to discount his ability as a dead-ball expert.
