Manipur is a state of festivities. Their cultural traditions reflect the festive nature of the people.

The people in the state believe that these festivities provide physical and emotional outlets which allow them to live a fuller life. The prominent among them is Lai-Haraoba where they worship their traditional deities, in the month of May.

The others important festivals are Yaoshang or Holi, Ratha Jatra and Ningol Chakouba. Naingol Chakouba is a social festival of the Meities.
