Gwalior: A day after Gwalior SDM report confirmed ragging in the alleged suicide attempt case of the 14-year-old son of a Bihar minister in the Scindia school, the police registered an FIR against three students and two staff members of the school.

The FIRs were registered against the minor boys, resident tutor, Arpan Soni and House master Parampreet Grewal, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mohammad Yusuf Qureshi told PTI.

Madhya Pradesh Education Minister, Deepak Joshi, has said that action will be taken against the guilty.

The statement of the boys have been recorded by the police.

The report further states that the management failed to take any step despite the Class IX student complaining to them about the ragging that he had been facing for ten days before he allegedly took the extreme step.

Gwalior Collector P Narhari cited the panel's report and said that the school warden and house-master might have been aware about the harassment as Adarsh had complained to the management.

The principal of Scindia School, Shamik Ghosh, reportedly said that the accused students have been expelled and the two staffers have been debarred.

The son of Bihar Cooperative Minister Jai Kumar Singh, Adarsh Kumar Singh was found with a cloth tied around his neck on August 20 and was rushed to a private hospital for treatment.

He was later shifted to Delhi's Apollo Hospital for treatment.

The incident reportedly took place after Adarsh had uploaded his photos on Facebook despite a ban in the school on using mobile phone.

"When the senior students came to know about it they also wanted to upload their photos on the social networking site and started harassing Adarsh,” the Collector said.
