Los Angeles: Hip-hop superstar 50 Cent has denied allegations of domestic violence following a reported attack on his ex-girlfriend.
The `In Da Club` hitmaker, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has been slapped with five misdemeanours - one for domestic violence and four for vandalism - after police were called to the Los Angeles home of his former lover, Daphne Joy, on June 23, reported Ace Showbiz.
He is accused of kicking down the door to a bedroom, where Joy had been hiding, and causing over USD 7,000 in damages.
50 Cent was said to have left the property before cops arrived on the scene, and although he has not been arrested, prosecutors filed charges against him.
The rapper issued a statement following accusations of domestic violence and vandalism.
His attorney said, "Curtis Jackson denies these allegations as made against him. It is important to note, Mr Jackson has not been arrested and there is no warrant outstanding for his arrest."
50 Cent will face up to five years behind bars and a maximum of USD 46,000 in fines if convicted of the charges.
The rapper is rumoured to have fathered a child with Joy last year, but he has only publicly confirmed being a father to his 16-year-old son Marquise with ex Shaniqua Tompkins.
