Los Angeles: Singer Billy Ray Cyrus has lauded his daughter Miley`s controversial `Wrecking Ball` music video and said that he loved the song.
Miley, 20, went nude in the video and wore only a pair of boots as she sung about a failed romance atop a wrecking ball, reported E! Online.
"The song`s a smash. It wouldn`t have mattered if Miley would have worn jeans and a flannel shirt, a tux or a nun`s habit?her performance vocally on the tune reflects her roots and sheer God-given talent," Billy, 52, said.
"I`m a song man. A musician singer-songwriter who loves all styles of music. I come from the old school where it starts with an artist and a song, colliding if you will, in a moment where the song, the singer, the producer, the band, and the listener become one," he added.
Billy had earlier defended the`We Can`t Stop` hitmaker`s controversial MTV VMA performance in which she twerked and waged her tongue as she danced with Robin Thicke on `Blurred Lines`.
The `Achy Breaky Heart` hitmaker had said that Miley would always be his little girl regardless of everything.
