Aurangabad: Gujarat Tourism would be organising a one-month-long `Saputara Monsoon Festival` beginning from 30th of this month.
Making the announcement at a promotional event here today, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) chairman Kamleshbhai Patel said the sector ranked third in the priority after agriculture and industry in his state.
"Rs 635 crore would be spent in the coming years to further encourage tourism in Gujarat," he said. Rs 170 crore would be spent for developing 14 beaches of the state, he said.
Gujarat tourism was investing heavily in the infrastructure of Saputara to develop this hill station into a major tourist destination, he added.
Sanatan Pancholi, the resident manager, Mumbai TCGL, said that several attractive packages would be on offer for Saputara during the festival.
