Mumbai: It is an established fact that when there is a film from the Bhatt camp the lead actor has to be Emraan Hashmi but that will not be the case anymore.
Ever since Hashmi made his debut in Footpath in 2003, all Vishesh Films projects have featured him in the lead role. It was only once in the film ‘Dhoka’ in 2007 where model Muzammil Ebrahim was launched. Apart from that in the past seven years or so it has always been Emraan Hashmi who has played the lead for Bhatt Productions.
But it seems that the things are fast changing in the Bhatt camp. According to the buzz Kunal Khemmu will be playing the lead role in the next film by Bhatt’s. And their favourite star Emraan Hashmi will not star in it at all, not even in a cameo.
Kunal Khemmu on returning to the Bhatt camp said to a daily, “We go back a long way. I did my first acting role as a child in the Bhatts’ Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke. I did one of my most important roles in Zakhm again as a child actor for them. Then I did Kalyug.”
“Yes we have been in talks for a while. Now I am doing a film, which revolves around the story of a man living abroad, his dreams, adventures and misadventures,” he said.
Kunal is excited about returning to the Bhatt camp after his ‘Kalyug’. At the same time he’s also excited as the film is being shot in Belgium.
“It is the first time that a Hindi film is being shot in Belgium. We’ve selected some stunning locations. We start shooting in two weeks,” he added while talking to a daily.
The film is being directed by Vishal Mahadkar, who has been an assistant director for the Bhatts for quite some time now. In this upcoming project Kunal will star opposite Amrita Puri of Aisha fame.
