Mumbai, July 20: Life is gung-ho for Ranvir Shorey, whose forthcoming film ‘Ugly and Pagli’ is already making waves across the nation. The film`s tagline says `99 Slaps and 1 Kiss`, which suggests that Ranvir Shorey would be hit 99 times by co-star Mallika Sherawat in the film. When asked about the ‘bang-bang’, the VJ turned actor revealed that he doesn’t mind being slapped by the hot Ms Sherawat, as long as the film works.
However, Ranvir was slapped many more times during the making of the movie. “I was at the slapping workshop and I helped Mallika slap me in a way that it looks real onscreen. I did that because the slaps are very important for the movie,” he revealed.
The actor talked about his character in the film. “I play a single Maharashtrian child whose spoilt, pampered, good-hearted, thrashed at home by his mom and yet has doting parents. He’s someone who’s been in his engineering college for three years more than it’s required and that is when he meets Mallika Sherawat,” he said.
The actor is all praises for co-star Mallika Sherawat, one of the boldest and hottest actresses of the B-Town. Talking about Mallika’s character in the film he said, “It’s a quirky comedy in which Mallika plays a bit of a bully.”
The actor began his career as a VJ only to succumb to the magical calling of the silver screen later. He has bagged several big banner films like ‘Singh is Kinng’ and ‘Good Luck’, a film about lucky kisses, in which he plays a gigolo.
Now, too many kisses and slaps for Ranvir Shorey. Wonder, what fiancé Konkona Sen Sharma has to say on this!
