Biography of Nicole Kidman

Born to Dr Antony David Kidman (biochemist, clinical psychologist and author) and Janelle Ann, Nicole started her career at an early age of 15 in the Pat Wilson music video for the song ‘Bop Girl’. She has a younger sister Antonia Kidman, who is a journalist.

Nic did her schooling from Lane Cove Public School and North Sydney Girls` High School. Later she went on to join Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Phillip Street Theatre in Sydney, with Naomi Watts, followed by the Australian Theatre for Young People. Kidman has dual citizenship of Australia and the United States.

Kidman got her breakthrough in 1989 in the role of Rae Ingram in ‘Dead Calm’ which garnered strong reviews. Nicole’s international success came in 1995 with her movie To Die For, for which she won Golden Globe and five other awards. Nicole also experimented with her music talent. She collaborated with Ewan McGregor on ‘Come What May’, which peaked at 27 in the UK Singles Chart.
