Son of the former Chief Minister of Maharastra, Vilasrao Deshmukh, Ritesh Deshmukh graduated from Kamala Raheja School of Architecture in Mumbai, Ritesh got a job in New York where he was hit by the acting bug. To hone his skills Ritesh joined acting course at the Lee Stratberg Theatre Institute in US. Ritesh made his Bollywood debut in 2003 with ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’ alongside his real life love Genelia D`Souza and today he is known one of the most dependable supporting actors in the Indian film Industry.
Known mostly for his comic roles, Ritesh established himself in Bollywood with films like ‘Masti’, ‘Dhamaal’, ‘Housefull’, ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’ and ‘Kyaa Kool Hai Hum’. The actor further proved his mettle portraying some serious roles like ‘Rann’, ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’ and ‘Bardaasht’. But, Ritesh really stood out in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Bluffmaster’ with Abhishek Bachchan.
Ritesh received Star Screen Best Comedian Award and Zee Cine Best Actor Award in a Comic Role for the film ‘Masti’ in 2005 and in 2006; he was awarded Stardust Best Supporting Actor Award for the film ‘Kya Kool Hai Hum’ and Zee Cine Best Actor Award in a Comic Role for the Film ‘Bluffmaster’.
During his free time, Ritesh loves playing cricket and watching films. Ritesh`s dream woman should be tall, pretty and posses a good sense of humour!
