Oster launches contest for cooking enthusiasts

Bangalore: Oster, one of the world’s leading brands in the kitchen appliances segment, trusted in USA for over 85 years, launched its unique initiative- ‘My Moment of Pride’ Contest 2009 and announced a call for entries. The contest has been launched for cooking enthusiasts to showcase their expertise and their proud moments in cooking. The primary objective of the company is to understand the likes and preferences and patterns of the Indian consumer.

Oster ‘My Moment of Pride’ contest began on 1st of September and ends on 31st October 2009. This exciting two months-long contest will honour the special recipe you prepared when you had a memorable proud moment in your life. Participants can share that proud moment and the Recipe for the dish that was cooked to celebrate that occasion.

To participate in the contest, you need to creatively describe a favourite moment of your life which made you proud and gave you the reason for preparing that favourite dish. Perhaps it was your son’s graduation, or your wedding anniversary and you were showered with praise and love for that sumptuous dish you made.

The best entry will win a prize worth Rs 1 lakh that is an all-expenses-paid trip to Bangkok and an attractive Oster gift hamper. The next three best entries will receive the Oster gift hampers worth Rs 15,000/- each. And the next 21 winners will receive Oster products worth Rs. 1900/- each. Lucky participants will be visited by a popular Radio jockey and the special moments and their recipes will be aired live on the radio. Last date for sending the entries is 31st Oct’09.

All selected entries will be published in the Oster recipe book with names and photographs of all the participants. An evaluation process will be conducted from 1st Nov to 10th Nov 2009, during which winners will be chosen and announced by Chef Chetan Sethi.

Chef Chetan Sethi is one of the most renowned and sought-after name in the world of hospitality. After a remarkable stint with J W Marriot and Oberoi (now Trident) where he opened Frangipani restaurant, he opted for entrepreneurship and started his own chain of North Indian & Continental cuisine in the name of Zaffran, Howrah which is Mumbai’s only restaurant to serve authentic Bengali cuisine and Bistro a lounge-styled continental restaurant amongst others.

The Oster ‘My Moment of Pride’ contest aims at identifying and bringing out these special moments of pride and bagging attractive prizes for the same.”
