This is a savoury vada recipe from Maharashtra that can be easily made at home and serves as an ideal evening tea snack.
Ingredients :
Cooking Oil ---- as required
Mustard seeds ---- 1 tspn
Jeera seeds ---------1 tspn
Ginger peeled ---- 50 gms
Garlic peeled-------- 50 gms
Green chillies ------3 nos
Green coriander leaves …1/2 Bunch
Grated fresh coconut ----- ½ nos
Besan ------------------- 2 cups
Turmeric--------------1 tspn
Salt --------------------- To taste
Ghee ------------------ To taste
Procedure:
Make a fine paste of ginger, garlic coriander and green chillies in a wet grinder.
Heat 2 tbspn oil in a Kadhai. Add the jeera and mustard seeds.
When they crackle, add the ground green paste.
Saute till the raw flavour goes off the ginger and garlic.
Add 2 cups of water and bring it to boil .Add salt and turmeric into it.
Add in the besan and mix till the water completely gets absorbed.
Grease a tray with ghee and spread the besan mix on it and flatten it.
Cut it into diamonds shapes.
Serve the wada garnished with chopped green coriander and grated coconut .
