Lucknow: Taking a cue from international food chains, Tunday Kebabi, which has been tickling tastebuds of commoners as well as celebrities for over a century has launched a company Tunday Kababi Private Limited (TKPL), which plans to open its outlets not only across the country, but in foreign countries as well.

"We will set up our outlets in different parts of the country especially big cities through a franchisee network," chairman of TKPL Mohammad Usman said.

The 105-year-old establishment started from the narrow by-lanes Akbari Gate of Chowk area in the state capital from a small shop.

Drawing the name Tunday from its founder amputee Haji Murad Ali Tunday`s kabab-parathas had become synonymous with Lucknow over a period of time.

"This will be the first time we are undertaking an expansion plan on such a large scale," Usman said.

The company, which has set up its first franchisee outlet here, now plans to set another in Bangalore.

"We have appointed US Eating Point as our first franchisee in Lucknow, which is owned by my long time friend Shakeel," he added.
