London, Sept 17: He might have made people laugh playing a grumpy dad or a cross-dressing pirate, but veteran actor Al Pacino believes that old pal Robert de Niro rules when it comes to comedy.

Both the actors have enjoyed long careers as the godfathers of gangster films, but Pacino believes that de Niro has an upper hand in comedy.

“Bob did the undoable, he reinvented himself when he did comedy films,” a news daily quoted Pacino, as saying.

“There’s an entire audience thinking of him as a comedian after years of playing a tragedian,” he added.

After giving hits like ‘Meet The Parents’ and ‘Stardust’, the 68-year-old actor wants to stick to serious roles.

“I did comedy once but no one’s seen or heard it,” he joked.

“Oh well, my mom used to think I was funny,” he added.
