Los Angeles: The makers of popular animated show `The Simpsons` have decided to retire the character of teacher Edna Krabappel after death of its voiceover artist Marcia Wallace.
The makers feel that Wallace` voice is irreplaceable and they would rather retire Krabappel`s character from the show, reports dailystar.co.uk
"I was tremendously saddened to learn this morning of the passing of the brilliant and gracious Marcia Wallace. She was beloved by all at `The Simpsons` and we intend to retire her irreplaceable character," said Al Jean, executive producer of the show.
"The Simpsons" is the longest running animated show on television. It revolves around Simpsons`s family.
