Los Angeles: `Gossip Girl` star Blake Lively has been cast opposite Ellen Burstyn in the supernatural romance story, `The Age of Adalin`.
The 26-year-old actress, who has taken over the lead role from former `Grey`s Anatomy` star Katherine Heigl, plays a 29-year-old girl who stops ageing after recovering from a near-fatal accident, reported Deadline.
The movie is helmed by Lee Toland Krieger.
The supernatural romance tale is a co-production between Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Lakeshore Entertainment.
Sidney Kimmel, Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi are producing the project. The script was written by Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz.
The long-stalled movie was first planned in 2010.
