New Delhi: UTV Motion Pictures` domestic comedy `Ghanchakkar`, that released Friday, has collected Rs. 7.2 crores in India on its opening day.
Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan play the lead role in the Rajkumar Gupta-directed film that was made under the budget of Rs. 20 crores.
"INDIA:#Ghanchakkar Fri Rs 7.2 cr (sic)," tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
Prior to the film`s release, Emraan and Vidya were seen heavily promoting the film on TV shows like "Indian Idol Junior" and `Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6`, among others.
