Los Angeles: Young talent Jennifer Lawrence turned out to be an early winner at the 71st Golden Globe Awards held here Sunday as she picked the trophy for being the best supporting actress in "American Hustle".
The 23-year-old was awarded for playing wife of actor Christian Bale in the movie. The trophy was handed over to her by actors Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock.
In the movie, Lawrence has even shared an onscreen kiss with co-star Amy Adams.
Others who were nominated in the best supporting actress - motion picture category included Julia Roberts, Sally Hawkins and June Squibb.
Actor Jared Leto, who played an AIDS positive person in “Dallas Buyers Club”, has won best supporting actor in motion picture at the 71st Golden Globe Awards held in Beverly Hills here Sunday evening.
Leto was awarded for his performance in the biographical drama.
While the biopic helped him win an award, movie on science fiction – “Her” also won an award. The best screenplay in motion picture went to the movie’s Spike Jonze, who has also directed the film starring Amy Adams and Olivia Wilde, among others.
