Los Angeles: Actor Michael Douglas has won the best actor in miniseries or motion picture made for television at the 71st Golden Globe Awards held here Sunday evening. He was awarded for his performance in `Behind the Candelabra`.
His co-star Matt Damon was also nominated in the same category.
In the other category, which recognises actresses` work, Amy Poehler was awarded with best actress in TV series comedy , “Parks and Recreation”. She is also hosting the award function with Tina Fey.
Poehler looked excited and surprised as she wasn’t expecting it.
On the other hand, Amy Adams’s bold role in “American Hustle” helped her bag the award for best actress in motion picture-comedy or musical at the 71st Golden Globe Awards held in Beverly Hills here Sunday evening.
She had once described her character Sydney Prosser as “really strong” and “kind of crazy”.
Her co-star Jennifer Lawrence also won an award at the 71st Golden Globe Awards.
The other nominees included Meryl Streep and Greta Gerwig.
Tina Fey popular for “Saturday Night Live” TV show and Amy Poehler are hosting the Golden Globes for the second time.
Actor Leonardo DiCaprio was given the award for best actor in comedy or musical at the ongoing 71st Golden Globe Awards held here.
Honoured for his role in “The Wolf of Wall Street”, he thanked the director Martin Scorsese. DiCaprio referred to the latter as a “risk taker” and “visionary”.
In the black comedy film, he plays the role of Jordan Belfort, who is a stockbroker.
