New York: Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt says having a wishlist of qualities and comparing your date to it may lead you to miss out on their more subtle qualities.
The 32-year-old says check lists are "doomed".
"Those are doomed because you`re guaranteed to not be paying attention to the actual person," Gordon-Levitt said on a recent episode of TV show `TakePart Live`, reports people.com.
"No person is going to fit into a quantified list," he added.
"But look, I`m not gonna say that I`m completely guiltless in this. We all have our lists," he said.
Also, "don`t compare your relationship to a movie".
"If you`re constantly comparing your real life to stuff you`ve seen on the screen, you`re always going to be disappointed, because real life is not as simple as that," he said.
"I think real life is a lot more beautiful," he added. "And look, I love movies, but even the best movie can never be the same as real life."
