Birthday Special: The avatars of Aamir Khan!

Aamir Khan’s looks in his movies through the years...

Aamir Khan, the perfectionist of Bollywood, who leaves a mark on the audience’s mind with every new movie he does, turns a year older on the 14th of March. But even at 48, his face has no trace of wrinkles or sagginess whatsoever. Besides being a versatile actor, Aamir is also a fashion chameleon as he changes his looks in almost every film he does. Here’s presenting a slideshow of the best of Aamir’s on-screen avatars in all these years.

Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak

In his first movie, Aamir looked like a mere schoolboy in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’. His cute looks were enough to make any girl’s heart melt. ‘Papa Kehte Hain Bada Naam Karega’ indeed turned out to be a prophecy that this newbie duly fulfilled.

crousel

Rangeela

Since Aamir plays the role of a street-toughened orphan in ‘Rangeela’, his appearance was quite different from his usual one. He looked manly with the rugged and tough look in the movie, which had not been seen in any of his earlier roles.

crousel

Earth 1947

His look in ‘Earth 1947’ suited his role very well. He donned the garb of a true Muslim with a lot of ‘surma’ and a skull cap.

crousel

Dil Chahta Hai

His look in the blockbuster hit ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ was probably emulated by almost every boy during the span in which the movie ruled the box office. The ‘goatee’ and the cool look went very well with the happy-go-lucky character of Sam he played in the movie.

crousel

Mangal Pandey: The Rising

In ‘Mangal Pandey: The Rising’, Aamir played the role of a revolutionary during India’s fight for Independence. He had all the essentials of a revolutionary — long hair, long moustache, a tough look and a uniform.

crousel

Rang De Basanti

Aamir sported a carefree, college boy look in ‘Rang De Basanti’, which became a sensational style for quite some time. Along with his flawless acting, Aamir captured many hearts with his new avatar.

crousel

Fanaa

In ‘Fanaa’, he deviated a bit from his usually short crop, and sported long, curly hair with a lot of poise.

crousel

Ghajini

`Ghajini’ was the first movie for which Aamir undertook much trouble to get the perfect six pack abs. Apart from the beefy muscles and a well-toned upper body, his hairstyle was extremely non-conventional — a near-bald crew cut with two partings, which speak of severe wounds from the past.

3 Idiots

Aamir Khan seemed to have found some magical age defying potion by the time he shot for ‘3 Idiots’. At 44, Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood looked half his age with his college-boy looks.

crousel

Delhi Belly

Even though Aamir did not act in ‘Delhi Belly’, his item number and his look in ‘I hate you like I love you’ became the talk of the town. As a tribute to the 80’s, he donned a typical retro style outfit — flashy clothes, bright colours and big glasses — that was hard to miss.

crousel

Talaash: The Answer Lies Withi

‘Talaash: The Answer Lies Within’ was the first movie in which Aamir sported a thick moustache. He played the role of a serious police inspector and the entire look made him feel real on-screen.

crousel

P.K.

Even though ‘P.K.’ has not yet been released and not much is known about it, the ghagra-choli look has definitely not been experimented with by any Indian actor, thereby making Aamir a metrosexual pioneer of Indian cinema!
