Easter eggs represented the continuity of life and fertility in ancient times. They were given as gifts by the ancient Persians, Greeks and Chinese during their spring festivals. They were incorporated into Christian festival of Easter to symbolize the resurrection of Christ.

Easter Bunny

It has its roots in ancient Anglo-Saxon culture. It was associated with Eostre, goddess of fertility. The rabbit was a symbol of abundant life and herald the onset of spring.

Butterfly

The butterfly`s life cycle represents the life of Jesus Christ. The caterpillar stands for his life on earth. The second phase of the pupa enclosed in a cocoon, symbolizes the crucifixion and burial and the final stage, the butterfly emerging out of the Cocoon represents Jesus resurrecting from death and his ascension to heaven.

Hot Cross Buns

Hot Cross Buns were first baked in England and now they are part of Easter celebrations in Western countries. The cross shaped icing on top of the bun represents the Crucifixion of Jesus.
