Brian Jones

Rolling Stones founder and guitarist plus multi-instrumentalist Brian Jones died on July 3, 1969. He was an immaculate musician who contributed to the world of music in an immense way. Brian died by drowning in a swimming pool. His Swedish girlfriend, Anna Wohlin, was convinced he was alive when they took him out, insisting he still had a pulse. However, by the time the doctors arrived, he was pronounced dead. The autopsy reports stated his liver and heart were heavily enlarged by drug and alcohol abuse. Jones was all of 27 at the time of death.

Janis Joplin

Janis was an American singer, songwriter, dancer and a music arranger. She was the lead singer of Big Brother and the Holding Company. She was known as the ‘The Queen of Rock and Roll’ or the ‘The Queen of Psychedelic Soul’. She was found dead in a hotel room in LA on the floor next to her bed. The official cause of death was an overdose of heroin, possibly combined with the effects of alcohol. 27 year old Janis was a talented musician and her death left her fans and band mates a huge vacuum for a lifetime.

Jim Morrison

James Douglas "Jim" Morrison was an American lead singer and lyricist of the rock band The Doors. He was regarded for his wild personality and performances, had oodles of fans who still hear and remember him for his classics. He had an iconic, charismatic, pioneering image as a part of his music band. He died an uncertain death and the questions around the reason of his death are still unanswered. He was found dead in a Paris apartment bathtub. Again, the musical maverick died at 27.

Jimi Hendrix

Jimi Hendrix was an American guitarist and singer-songwriter. He has made some notable contributions to music. He was regarded as one of the most talented musicians of his era. He was a part of The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Band of Gypsys. He made some great electric guitar tunes which remain one of the finest tunes ever made in the musical history of the world and will continue to stay. Jimi died on 18th September 1970 in a hotel apartment. From his autopsy reports it was revealed that he had asphyxiated on vomit after combining sleeping pills with wine.

Kristen Pfaff

Kristen Pfaff was an American bass guitarist, best known for her work with Hole. Kristen was an amazing musician who made it to fame and name at a very young age. She was often known for her vibrant personality which reflected in the music she made. Kristen was found dead in her apartment by Paul Erickson, a friend with whom she had planned to leave for Minneapolis that day. She lied dead on the floor with a bag next to her containing syringes and drug paraphernalia. Pfaff`s death was attributed to "acute opiate intoxication," and ruled accidental.

Kurt Cobain

Kurt Cobain was as an American singer-songwriter, musician and artist, best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the grunge band Nirvana. During the last years of his life, he struggled with heroin addiction, illness and depression. His fame and public image, as well as the professional and personal pressures surrounding himself and his wife weighed him down in life. He was found dead at his home in Seattle, the victim of what was officially ruled a suicide by a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head.

Richey Edwards

Richard James Edwards was a Welsh musician who was rhythm guitarist and lyricist of the alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers. He was known for his politicized and intellectual songwriting which, combined with an enigmatic and eloquent character, has assured him cult status. Edwards vanished on 1 February 1995. He was declared presumed deceased in November 2008. The ninth album by the Manic Street Preachers, Journal for Plague Lovers, which was released on 18 May 2009, is composed entirely of lyrics left behind by Edwards.

Pete Ham

Pete was a Welsh singer, songwriter and guitarist. He was a part of the music band Badfinger. He was the lead singer and guitarist for his band. He did on 24th April 1975 at the age of 27. He played guitar and piano brilliantly and made some amazing contributions to music with his pop and rock music. Pete died by hanging himself in garage in his Surrey home. He left behind a pregnant wife. He apparently suffered work pressure that lead him to take such a step. In his suicide note he made a statement saying, ‘I will not be allowed to love and trust everybody. This is better”.
