Looking through Kate Middelton’s style sense, I’ve come to understand she loves the simple yet elegant look, and since this is a royal wedding, vintage elements were a must…
The dress I designed for the soon to be Mrs. William has a corset bodice, with fine net sleeves that wrap themselves softly only around the arms. The bodice is strapless and continues down to front hem of the gown, layered in net, and oxidized silver work, with patterns inspired from traditional Indian zardosi work, white pearls and roses, that begin dense at the bust and diminish to the roses and pearls at the hem. The dress is cut from the side and the layers of net will peek from the slits, giving the dress the volume it needs to complete the look. The back of the dress is cut down deep, and the bustle is a thicker net that rests daintily on top of the layers underneath. And finally, train of the dress has the same silver and bead work as the bodice but only till a few inches at its hem.
