Queen Noor and King Hussein of Jordan

Queen Noor of Jordan was born as Elizabeth Najeeb Halaby on 23rd August 1951. She is the fourth and the last wife of late King Hussein (14th November 1935 – 7th February 1999) of Jordan. Halaby renounced her USA citizenship and converted to Islam to marry Hussein on 15th June 1978 in Amman.

Masako Owada and Prince Naruhito

Crown Princess of Japan Msasaka Owada (9th December 1963) is the wife of the heir apparent to the Chrysanthemum Throne of Japan, Crown Prince Naruhito (23 February 1960). Masako and Naruhito first met when the former was a student at the University of Tokyo (1986) and got married in a gala royal wedding on 9th June 1993.

Rania Al-Yasin and Prince Abdullah of Jordan

Rania Al-Yasin (31st August 1970) is the current spouse of King Abdullah II of Jordan (30th January 1962). The two casually met at a dinner party in January 1993 and married on 10th June 1993. Apart from being a royal figure, Rania-Al-Yasin is actively involved in education, community empowerment, cross culture dialogue, international forum and foundations.

Marie-Chantal Miller and Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece

Marie-Chantal Miller (17th September 1968) was born in London and married to Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece (20th May 1967) on 1st July 1995 at St. Sophia’s Cathedral, which cost a total of USD 1.5 million and was attended by one thousand and four hundred guests. Even England’s Queen Elizabeth II hosted a tea party reception at Claridge’s in Mayfair.

Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby and Crown Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway

Mette-Marit (19 August 1973) is the wife of Crown prince Haakon Magus of Norway (20th August 1973). When Haakon’s expressed his desire to Mette-Marit, many Norwegians thought it as an unsuitable match because Mette-Marit was a single mother and was involved in Rave scene and her child’s father was a drug convict. Despite all odds, Haakon married Mette-Marit on 25th August 2001.

Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano and Felipe, Prince of Asturias

Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano (15th September 1972) is the wife of Felipe, Prince of Asturias, heir apparent to the Spanish throne. Before marrying Felipe, Letizia was married to Alonso Guerrero Perez in 1998 only to get divorced in 1999. On 1st November 2003, the Royal household announced that Felipe, Prince of Asturias was engaged to Leitizia and couple entered wedlock on 22nd May 2004. Before her marriage to the Felipe, Prince of Asturias, Letizia was a journalist.

Pengiran Anak Sarah and the Crown Prince of Al-Muhtadee Billah

Pengiran (9th April 1987) was married at a tender age of seventeen to the Crown Prince of Al-Muhtadee Billah (17th February 1974), heir apparent to the Sultan of Brunei in an elaborate wedding on 9th September 2004. The wedding was a lavish affair which cost around USD 5,000,000.

Princess Sayako of Japan and Yoshiki Kuroda

Sayako Kuroda (18th April 1969), formerly Princess of Japan married Yoshiki Kuroda on 15th November 2005. Interestingly, Yoshiki Kuroda does not belong to any royal family; he is a designer, who worked with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. In order to marry into non-aristocratic family, Sayako had to relinquish the imperial family and is no longer entitled to an imperial allowance.

Crown Princess Victoria to Daniel Westling

Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, Duchess of Västergötland (14th July 1977) married Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland and her former gym instructor (15th September 1973) on 19th June 2010 in Stockholm Cathedral not before receiving the official permission to become engaged from Government of Sweden and King Carl XVI Gustaf. Victoria and Daniel’s wedding was dubbed as “Europe`s biggest royal wedding since the Prince of Wales married Lady Diana Spencer in 1981,” which cost 20 million kronor.
