Bollywood songs can succinctly tell stories. Many a numbers from Hindi cinema have succeeded in glorifying relationships. And one such relation is ‘Friendship’. From ‘Yeh dosti’ (‘Sholay’) to ‘Dil Chahta Hai’s’ title track, songs dedicated to friendship have deeply touched one and all. Tere Jaisa Yaar Kahan- `Yaarana`

In the melodious voice of Kishore Kumar, the song- ‘Tere Jaisa Yaar Kahan’ from the movie ‘Yaarana’ superbly portrays the emotional outburst of a long lost friend- played by Amitabh Bachchan. The song is filmed on Big B, who heaps praises on his friend cum godfather (played by late Amjad Khan).

Diye Jalte Hai – `Namak Haraam`

‘Diye Jalte Hai’ from the movie ‘Namak Haraam’ is yet another masterpiece by the legendary RD Burman. In the movie, Rajesh Khanna sings this number for his friend played by Amitabh Bachchan. It is sung by the late Kishore Kumar, who adds charm to the profound lyrics and melodious music.

Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ had received accolades from the film critics for depicting friendship among Urban youth beautifully. Almost all the numbers instantly became a hit among the youth.
