Valentine Special: Romantic Songs

crousel

Bollywood goes romantic in rain!

There is an age old relation between Rain and Love.In Bollywood too, rains have often played cupid to the actors and actresses making for passionate and memorable scenes. Here is a look at some sizzling Bollywood numbers that would make your Valentine’s Day special.

Shri 420

It all started from ‘Pyar Hua Ikrar Hua’, this number is a legend. It inspired all the rain songs in the history of Indian cinema. Possibly the most iconic image that springs from Bollywood`s sepia-toned past is that of Raj Kapoor and Nargis under an umbrella.

Ajnabee

‘Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Main’ is one of the sexiest songs of Bollywood and it has the sexiest actress that Bollywood has ever produced - Zeenat Aman. Drenched in rain and singing ‘Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Main’ with the first superstar of his generation, the dashing and handsome Rajesh Khanna.

Namak Halal

‘Aaj rapat jaaye toh’, Smita Patil and Amitabh Bachchan look like they are having so much fun as they tease and seduce each other. The song focuses on the chemistry between the ‘angry young man’ and Smita, one of the finest stage and film actors of her time. And it’s beautifully lit and shot, giving a lovely misty feel to the streets of Bombay.

Mr India

Again! Rain gives a perfect excuse to Sridevi to express her love to an invisible man, so she sings ‘Kante Nahin Kat Tey’. Most of the song features her in solo. But the way she moves in sync with the duet you sense the invisible hero`s presence in the video. Sridevi gyrated to her invisible lover; the clinging wet blue sari became the epitome of sexiness!

Mohra

Besides the steamy picturisation, the song has racy lyrics - ‘Tip Tip Barsa Pani, Pani Ne Aag Lagayi’. Raveena Tandon is at her sensuous best, romancing Akshay Kumar on a terrace. Draped in a bright orange saree, rain soaked Raveena dances her way into macho man Akshay`s life (on screen, we mean). Unforgettable and scintillating. While we can go on and on about Raveena’s sexy moves, what we are really wondering about is how Akki managed to keep a straight face for the first half of the song!

Sarfarosh

Aamir Khan gets fully drenched to romance the sultry Sonali Bendre. The song ‘Jo Haal Dil Ka’ is a tangy rain number from the movie ‘Sarfarosh.’ The tough cop Aamir played soft and sexy as his lady love turned on the heat in this song in ‘Sarfarosh.’ The chemistry between these two is amazing. This song is truly sexy and sensual at the same time and also the tune is very good.

Masti

Lara Dutaa was relatively new to the industry but with the song ‘On The Roof In The Rain’ she just made a name for herself as a sexy dancer who can look hot like anything. The song was sexy, sensual and appealing too.

crousel

Fanaa

‘Yeh Saazhish hai boonon ki’, Kajol and Aamir Khan surrender to rain showers. They can’t help as the spark flies between them. If Kajol and Aamir could be downright sexy in their rain songs, they could be the romantic ones too. The chemistry between them, the slow rain and a beautiful soundtrack – just the way to fall in love.

Hum Tum

The sudden downpour was just timely for Rani Mukherjee and Saif Ali Khan in `Sasson Ko Sasson Se...` to recognize their love for each other in this film and became the most iconic song in the current generation of songs. The song ‘Hum Tum’ is soft and breezy just like the first showers of monsoon. While Rani and Saif made an unusual pair, their chemistry in this song is fantastic! One song that truly touches your hearts.

3 Idiots

The song is not a saucy number like most of the rain tracks, but ‘Zoobi Doobi’ captures the light, fun mood that comes with the rain. The chemistry between Kareena and Aamir was stunning and made the country do ‘Zoobi Dooobi’.

crousel

De Dana Dan

Katrina Kaif seduces Akshay Kumar by singing ‘Gale Lag Ja’. The water magic is irresistible. Not only did her sexy quotient hit the roof with this number, it also made people take notice of the film. The number sizzles, though the movie fizzled out.

crousel

Agneepath

Besides controversy, the song ‘O Saiyaan’, became popular for its very passionate and romantic mood as it’s the latest song to be shot in rain. The track is a love song featuring Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra.
