Everyone aims for prosperity on Diwali. We involve ourselves in doing all sorts of things to please the Goddess of wealth. So go ahead and read through our list of things you must NOT do this Diwali and ensure that you don’t leave any stone unturned to welcome the said deity to your home.

Ditch black

Yes we know how much you love wearing black. But during Diwali, put the idea of getting into that lovely black dress aside. Reason: Maha Lakshmi is least pleased by any raven colour. So, think seriously about adding cheery colours like red, pink, yellow, green and golden to your festive wardrobe

Say no to meat

On the auspicious occasion of Lakshmi and Ganesh puja, it is advisable to refrain from devouring non-vegetarian dishes, no matter how tempting it gets. This helps a great deal in maintaining the sanctity of the day. To cater to your feasting instincts, try whipping up some delicious vegetarian delicacies instead.

A dirty home is a no-no

Why would Goddess Lakshmi care to step into a home that is in a need for a scrub and wash? So, wipe out every speck of dust, throw away that garbage and clean all those spider webs (if any) from every nook and corner of your home- sweet- home!

Don’t worry (be happy)

Diwali is a time to share and spread happiness because prosperity is associated with a positive outlook towards life. On the other hand, staying in isolation or moving around in a bad mood is unrewarding on a Diwali night. So, go out, mingle with your loved ones and share a joke or two.

Here’s some advice that has been reiterated a million times but trust us, it pays to pay heed to the safety tips. So, don’t neglect the precautions to be taken while bursting fire crackers and follow this rule to the T.
