Yash Chopra made ‘Daag’ at the peak of Rajesh Khanna’s popularity. Cashing in on the hit Jodi of Shamila Tagore-Rajesh Khanna, he cast Rakhee as well in this love triangle. Sharmila, who had already worked with Yash Chopra in ‘Waqt’, played Sonia to perfection in ‘Daag’. The film saw Sharmila playing a jilted heartbroken woman who discovers that her dead husband is still alive and living with another woman.

Rakhee

The beautiful pristine valleys of Kashmir, beautiful poetry of Harivansh rai Bachchan and the beautiful Rakhee being romanced by Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Kabhi Kabhi’- stuff that cult classics are made of. The Bengali light eyed beauty was presented in the most unconventional way in the film and viewers got to see her in the most glamorous avatar ever.

Rekha

In ‘Silsila’ she redefined sensuality. When Amitabh Bachchan crooned ‘Neela Aasman’ to a shy Rekha, an entire generation heaved a sigh. The woman who was till then seen in loud colours and makeup, looked ethereal in ‘Silsila’.

By now, pastels and chiffons had become a trademark of Yash Raj films. Madhuri Diixit appeared in ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’ as Pooja, the dreamer who believed that ‘someone somewhere is made for you’. The vivacious beauty was seen dancing and emoting in this love triangle starring Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri and Karisma Kapoor. A talented dancer, the film also showcased her as a professional dancer. Who can forget the scene where Madhuri’s jugalbandi on the dance floor with SRK playing the drums.

Remember the blowouts of Juhi’s pictures in SRK’s room, she looked absolutely breathtaking in them!
