Its has been promoting several local festivals such as Shigmo, Bonderam, San Joao etc to showcase its culture to the world. In order to develop its coastline, Goa Tourism is working towards making beaches cleaner, safer and more beautiful. The Government of Goa recently approved a proposal to develop the infrastructure of Baga and Calangute beaches which are most frequented by tourists. The plan includes better parking facilities, a viewing tower, seating and landscaping, seaside pathways from Baga to Calangute and an approach road from Baga to Arpora bridge.
