London: Irish actor Chris O`Dowd has landed a deal to turn his popular TV show Moone Boy into a series of children`s books.
Nick Vincent Murphy have signed a six-figure deal with publisher Macmillan to write the tomes, with the first one due out next autumn next year, reported Daily Mirror.
Loosely-based on O`Dowd`s childhood, the show features a young boy in rural Ireland and his relationships with his dysfunctional family and an imaginary friend.
Last month, O`Dowd and Murphy scored their first International Emmy by winning in the Comedy category, seeing off competition from programmes made in Brazil, France and South Africa.
