Kozhikode: Prominent story writer N S Madhavan, has been chosen for the `Padmaprabha` literary award instituted by Padmaprabha memorial trust, for his comprehensive contributions in the malayalam story writing sector.
The award consists of Rs 55,000 cash award, a memento and a citation, Padmaprabha Memorial Trust, Chairman, M P Veerendrakumar, said.
Born in 1948 at Kochi, Madhavan had taken his graduation from Maharaja`s College and post-graduation from Kerala University.
A leftist during his college days, Madhavan took his IAS in 1975.
Madhavan`s `Sisu` had won the first prize in the short story contest organised by Mathrubhoomi Weekly in 1970.
