A Close knit family

Lolo is said to be extremely close to her mother Babita and sister Kareena. In one of her interviews, she said that she is her mom’s favorite child. She cherishes Kareena and has played a good role in nurturing her baby sister since their growing up years. Both the sisters are close gossip buddies.

The bench marker

Karisma was the first woman from the entire Kapoor clan who dared to look beyond the conventions set by the patriarchal holds within her family. Her zeal for acting made way for her to enter filmdom and bag her first movie offer with ‘Prem Quaidi’ with Harish as her co-actor. As it is known nationwide, her bikini stint in the movie made her fans skip a heartbeat!

`Rani Hindustani`

Karisma re-established her identity in Hindi movies with ‘Raja Hindustani’ which released in 1996 and starred Aamir Khan. Rumour is that the girl had undergone a nose re-shaping surgery before the film. ‘Raja Hindustani’ was a milestone in Karisma’s acting career and her superb styling by designer Manish Malhotra made the whole nation go gaga over her.

Characterising a lovelorn princess

Lolo did ‘Zubeida’ with Manoj Bajpai and Rekha which was a period drama directed by noted filmmaker Shyam Benegal. The movie clearly showed Karisma as a honed actress and she never looked prettier before this film.

The ‘break-up’ point

Her engagement with long-time boyfriend Abhishek Bachchan made a lot of news and so did her sudden break-up with Bachchan Junior. The reasons for the same are not known yet since the couple and their respective families chose to remain mum on the incident.

Matrimonial ties

Shortly after snapping ties with the Bachchan family, Karisma married Delhi-based businessman and her childhood friend Sanjay Kapoor in a lavish ceremony at her ancestral home in Chembur, Mumbai. She appeared like a blushing bride in her soft pink Manish Malhotra attire. The marriage was attended by the who’s who of Bollywood except by the Bachchan’s. Sadly, Karisma had a fall-out with hubby Sanjay before Samaira’s birth but they later decided to give another shot to their marriage. However, industry is abuzz with reports that say that Karisma’s marriage is once again on the rocks since Sanjay is rumoured to be dating socialite Priya Chatwal.

Mommy’s the best

This Kapoor girl is a hands-on mom of two kids now and single-handedly manages her work priorites and children. Her elder daughter Samaira has taken after her dad while Lolo’s son resembles her.

Treading a new path

Lolo’s foray into the e-commerce arena with her business start-up ‘Baby Oye.com’ will allow her to showcase her entrepreneurship skills.

Her tryst with Television

Post marriage and delivering her first baby, Karisma did a short TV stint by judging reality dance show ‘Nach Baliye’. It was refreshing to see ‘Rani Hindustani’ on small screen in a different avatar.

Back with a bang!

After a long sabbatical, Karisma returned on screen to portray different characters in her recently released film ‘Dangerous Ishq’ which co-starred Rajnish Duggal. Though the movie got mixed reviews, it certainly helped Karisma in garnering all that praise she deserved for her hard work.
