Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s first onscreen appearance was seen in JP Dutta’s ‘LOC Kargil’ in 2003. All throughout that time they didn’t really talk much, but Kareena was reported to have said that Saif was a perfect gentleman.
‘Saif a sweet guy’
In 2006, Kareena and Saif worked together in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Omkara’. Here again, the two hardly spoke to each other and there was very less interaction between them off-screen as well. They didn’t share any scenes together, though back then Kareena had said, “Saif kept his distance and was a sweet guy”.
Love is in the air
And destiny smiled at them the third time when they started to work in ‘Tashan’. Apparently, Saif and Kareena hit it off instantly and became close friends. The film worked its magic for the two... the spark was evident and... love was in the air.
Past relationships
Already in a relationship then, Kareena was going through a rough phase in her personal life. Reports indicate that she grew closer to Saif after she broke-off with Shahid Kapoor.
The creation of ‘Saifeena’
In October 2007, at Manish Malhotra`s fashion show, Saif and Kareena announced to the world that they were a couple. And hence, ‘Saifeena’, the name lovingly bestowed upon them by the media, came into existence.
The Proposal
Until now, it was known that Saif and Kareena were dating. In 2009, Saif Ali Khan made the first admission that he wanted to marry Kareena Kapoor.
Kareena says ‘Yes’
On March 16, 2012, at a media conclave, Kareena Kapoor spoke for the first time about her plans of getting married to Saif. She said that she might marry him by the end of 2012.
