Itaipava Arena Pernambuco is located in the city of Recife, which is the capital of Pernambuco, a north-eastern state in Brazil. The stadium has a capacity to accommodate 46,000 people. The newly constructed stadium will host five World Cup 2014 matches. Sport Club do Recife, Santa Cruz Futebol Clube and Clube Nautico Capibaribe are the three clubs in Brazil that belong to the state of Pernambuco.
Recife is known for the Boa Viagem, an 8 km long beach. It is also considered as one of the best beaches in the continent. However, during June, which is when the city will host of all its matches, Recife experiences the wettest month of the year. It is also the city where Brazil legend Rivaldo grew up before he made his big money move to Europe.
